Hemm żewġ sinjali għas-SENA L-ĠDIDA. L-ewwel sinjal għandu żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal TAJJEB. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ ponn bis-saba’ l-kbir maħruġ ’il barra u bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa. L-id tersaq kemm kemm ’il quddiem fil-ġenb. (ii) Imbagħad isir is-sinjal għal SNIEN isir billi l-werrej ta’ id waħda tmiss is-snien waqt li x-xufftejn jisseparaw mingħajr ma jinfetaħ il-ħalq. It-tieni sinjal għandu żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal SNIEN bħat-tieni parti tal-ewwel sinjal. (ii) Imbagħad isir is-sinjal għal ĠDID. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ F bis-saba’ l-kbir u l-werrej jiffurmaw ċirku żgħir, bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa u bil-ponot tas-swaba’ jħarsu lejn il-ġenb. L-id timxi distanza żgħira minn ġenb għall-ieħor livell mal-għonq.
There are two signs for NEW YEAR. The first sign has two parts. (i) First the sign for GOOD is made. One hand takes the shape of a fist with extended thumb and with palm facing inwards. The hand moves slightly forward at the side. (ii) Then the sign for TEETH is made with the index finger of one hand touching the teeth whilst the lips widen without opening the mouth. The second sign also has two parts. (i) First the sign for TEETH is made as in the second part of the first sign. (ii) Then the sign for NEW is made. One hand takes the shape of F with the thumb and index finger forming a small circle. The palm faces inwards and the fingertips face the side. The hand moves a short distance from one side to the other at neck level.
